I was extremely glad of all of the advice given in this forum beforehand as it was invaluable on the day. I felt very organised and used my timing plan all day.
Our dressage was a bit over excited unfortunately, I really struggled to settle him down so didn’t ride a great test but I now know in future to either warm up earlier, or maybe a short ride round the area when we first to relax him. He is only 6 so still all new and exciting. We ended up with a 48.5%, our worst dressage to date but our first experience on grass. I now know why people call it stressage!
The SJ was better, 2 down as I was chasing a bit – think I was the one who was over excited this time!
We were clear XC with 11.5 time faults but I didn’t push him after the poor dressage mark. I just wanted to get round in one piece!
It was a stressful day but I did love it – think I may have the eventing bug now! Ended up 22nd in my section so aiming for a result in the teens next time!
