I arrived in plenty of time to walk the course and get warmed up for my dressage. I was really looking forward to the dressage as my flatwork lessons were really helping at home.......but that was at home! Things were a bit better than our last outing on grass but not much. We rode a 42.5 which was our best BE score to date but not as good as we needed. I have learned to not let it affect the rest of the day though so off we went for a quick tack change and off to the SJ warm up. To keep Corky calm I only popped a few practice fenced and in we went. The course had been causing lots of problems - spooky banners and flags seemed to be the main issue but wee Corks didn't give them a second look. We jumped is socks off and only missed out on a clear as I asked him to go off a flyer of a stride at the last jump - I think it was me that got a little over-excited this time!
I was really pleased with the way he jumped so was looking forward to getting out in the XC - the course looked great and rode even better. There was a tricky skinny roll-top in the woods and tracks but as usual, C few round clear and one of the few within the time.
Overall finished on 46.50 for 9th. Again an improvement on our scores - just that tricky dressage to sort out!
