I set up this blog up back in 2014 to share stories of my equestrian trials and tribulations. I had just started to event for the first time ever after a 10 year break from horses and wanted to document my journey for friends and family.

In that time I have achieved so much but still have so much further to go.

Mid week show jumping

Braving the winds and rain in seek of an indoor school Corky and I headed off to SNEC on Wednesday evening for a jump at their schooling night. It had been a few weeks since we've had a jump so we needed the practice.

The schooling nights are ran as single phase starting at 65 and going up to 105.

We warmed up and got ready to pop a few practice fences. Thankfully I managed to accost a chap spectating to help with the warm up jumps as we were struggling to keep the little upright up! No worries at the oxer though as usual?!?

In we went though as we were last in the class, 85cm. Wee Corky did me proud and we produced the only DC of the night for our first first place!

Feeling confident we went in first for the 95 so we could also get home at a decent time. Unfortunately I went back to my old ways of pushing him out of his rhythm a few strides out because of nerves so we had a whopping 5 poles down! Eek!!

Despite his terrible rider, Corky didn't care and tried his best, brave and bold as usual. It did make me realize that all the lessons in world are no substitute for actually getting out and jumping full courses.
